About

Who am I?

I briefly ran cross country when I was a tall young weed of 8, played team sports through school, and picked up running again at 16 (albeit on the treadmill). I caught the bug properly at 25 and I’ve run everything from 800m races to a 50km trail ultra, but my favourite by far is the road marathon.

I ran my first marathon (the BMO Vancouver Marathon) in May 2012 and it took me a whole year to recover, but I ran the same one again in 2013 and I haven’t looked back. Exactly four years before in 2008, I had an attack of what I now know to be multiple sclerosis, although I didn’t get a diagnosis until 2016. It’s pretty mild, but as I kept getting injured trying to do speed sessions I decided that I’d prefer to run for as many years as I can even if it means I don’t get another PB.
